A: In most cases, no referral is required. You can contact us directly to schedule an evaluation. For certain programs, like Mobile Treatment Services, eligibility may be reviewed before enrollment.
Q: How soon can I get an appointment?
A: Wait times vary depending on the service, but we do our best to schedule new clients within 1 week. For urgent needs, please let our team know so we can prioritize your care.
Q: Is my treatment confidential?
A: Yes. We follow all state and federal privacy laws, including HIPAA. Information you share during treatment is confidential and only released with your written consent, unless required by law.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Yes, we accept Medicaid insurance only. Our team can verify your benefits before your first appointment.
Services & Care
Q: Do you offer telehealth or virtual sessions?A: Yes. Many of our services are available virtually, making it easier to receive care from the comfort of your home. Some programs, like PRP and Mobile Treatment, also include in-person support.
Q: What can I expect in my first session?
A: Your first appointment will be an evaluation where we’ll discuss your goals, challenges, medical history, and support needs. From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan together.
Q: What is Psychiatric Rehabilitation (PRP)?
A: PRP helps individuals build skills for daily living, manage symptoms, and strengthen social and family connections. It’s designed to support long-term stability and independence.
Q: What is Mobile Treatment (MTS)?
A: MTS provides comprehensive mental health services directly in your home or community. This includes counseling, medication management, crisis intervention, and case management.
Practical Details
Q: Which areas do you serve?
A: We primarily serve Charles County and the southern Maryland region. Please contact us if you’re outside these areas to confirm eligibility.
Q: How often will I see my provider?
A: The frequency of visits depends on your treatment plan. Some clients meet weekly, while others may benefit from multiple visits per week.
Q: Do you work with children and families?
A: Yes. We offer family counseling and programs designed to help children and adolescents succeed at home, in school, and in the community.
Q: What if I’m in crisis?
A: If you’re experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately. For mental health crises, you can also call 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. HOPE Behavioral Health offers crisis intervention services to help stabilize urgent situations.
